ABOUT ME

I’m VanathiSureshkumar, Home maker, and live in Bangalore. Mother of two little sons and live happily with my partner Sureshkumar.I was born at Tamilnadu, Thanjavur Based Village (Orathanadu).I’m a proud village girl from Thanjavur. I was brought up at “Thiruchirapalli-Trichy” (Rock City).I Lived there since I was 2 Years old.

My Mom is an expert in drawing kolams(Rangoli), mostly  she draws free hand and lot of sikku kolams. When I was 7 years old, she taught me the first kolam. My first comment was from my brother. He commented that “Write name of the rangoli on side otherwise no one recognize”.

During The Tamil Month Margali and festival seasons, there will be a competition among the neighbours for drawing best and colored rangoli. My Mom has lot of Rangoli collections in note books. I learnt from those books on bricks of my rangoli.

After marriage coming to Bangalore, I am not getting a chance to draw kolams, because we live in 2^nd floor Apartment. During Festivals and Fridays draw Rangoli in front of our Building.

So this web site is my humble attempt to share my mom’s kolam collections and my own creative designs and I learnt some from beautiful rangoli websites. I show and draw my Rangoli designs step by step instructions, so it is easy to follow.
