COLOR POWDER TECHNIQUES

·         Home Made Rangoli colors are easy to make and bring new life to your Rangoli. In these days ground White stone powder is used in the stores. Even It Stone Powder is used, once could mix raw rice flour in it. For this is easier to apply and also the Rangoli are brighter and well finished and also not harm our fingers.

·         If you want to give light tone to color mix with white rice powder or light yellow color. I Always Prefer Color Powder Mixed with sand. Color powder mixed with sand give extra brightness and consumption of color powder is less and easy to apply on the rangoli on the wet and mud floor.

         In Bowl take a Rangoli powder and pour warm water and blend well. Then mix the required sand and Color Powder. Allow it to dry in a shadow place it will take more than 5 hours to dry. Now bright rangoli Powder is ready.

         Always use pair of opposite colors.
·         Pink and Green
·         Red and Yellow
·         Green and purple
·         Yellow and Green
·         Red and White
·         Purple and Blue
·         Pink and Blue
·       Don’t mix color powders with white Rangoli powder it will give dull looks to Rangoli and White absorbs more color.

        Crystal Salt is used to decorate the Rangoli designs. Add the required crystal salt and color mix well. Fill on the rangoli Design. One More Crystal salt Method – First fills the crystal salt and sprinkle the color powder(Add little white powder in the color powder) over it on the Rangoli.         For Makkolam soak raw rice for an hour, grind it a fine paste. Use little water only. Use small piece of cloth dip the rice paste draw your Makkolam designs. It will be very bright and fixed firmly on the floor next few more days.


         If you want instant Makkolam powder, pasted raw rice, pour it in a wide plate, keep it under the sun for few days, it will become flakes.dry well and keep in a dry box. Whenever needs, take a required flakes, mix it with little water and make a paste and try Makkolam.

Yellow color               - Turmeric and red rice flour
Marigold yellow color - Dry marigold flower pedals in the shade and crush them to make a fine powder
Purple color               - Beet root water mixed with raw rice powder & allows in to dry in the shade for                                     few hours  
Brown color               - Used coffee & tea powder dry in to shade for few hours, will get excellent                                             bright color     
Red (Kaavi)                - We can get fine kaavi color bricks. This color can be use for Friday Rangoli's.
Green                        - Used mehandi / henna powder, separately or mix with little quantity of raw                                           rice powder will get lovely green shade. Dried leaves (powdered) also can use.

 Coloring effects in the mind vibrations:-
White        - Purity, coolness and safety ( It is often used to make fine hires too)
Red            - Strength and Energy
Green        - Harmony, balance & Nature
Blue           - Vastness, Happiness & Peace
Orange       - Sacrifice
